Since 1990, the Sunnen Engine Charity Sweepstakes has been an important tradition for Sunnen Products Company and the Performance Racing Industry trade show. For the last 26 years, the event has served as a way to use Sunnen’s high profile in the racing community to raise funds and awareness for a number of great causes.
Join us as we look back on the history behind the Sunnen Engine Charity Sweepstakes. We’ll also discuss how you can enter to win a custom-built engine by Patterson Elite Performance while you still can.
Although the Sunnen Engine Charity Sweepstakes dates back to the 90’s, the event reached its largest stride when Sunnen joined forces with a not-for-profit organization, Victory Junction.
Victory Junction is a year-round camp for medically challenged children, co-founded by Kyle Petty of NASCAR fame, in honor of his son Adam, who was tragically killed in a racing accident. Victory Junction’s mission statement proclaims: “We believe that every child, no matter their illness or diagnosis, should enjoy normal childhood experiences. Victory Junction is where children, whose lives are filled with limitations and boundaries, face fun challenges and discover just how resilient they are. The camp experience is not just about playing games, it is about helping children learn more about their abilities and what they can do.”
Victory Junction has welcomed campers from all 50 states who persevere, despite facing a variety of medical conditions, such as diabetes, Sickle Cell Anemia, Spina Bifida and cancer.
All proceeds generated by the Sunnen Engine Charity Sweepstakes will be donated to Victory Junction and the many kids it strives to empower every day of the year.
This year, Patterson Elite Performance will be donating a custom-built engine for the Sunnen Engine Charity Sweepstakes. Gear heads, feast your eyes on the engine specs listed here:
GM LSX 454 Big Block Racing Engine
- Custom built by Nick Ferri of Patterson Elite Performance
- Estimated Horsepower: 850 HP
- Estimated Torque: 650 Ft/Lbs
Remember, all tickets purchased for the Sunnen Engine Charity Sweepstakes drawing will be donated to Victory Junction. Feel free to enter as many times as you’d like; the more tickets you buy, the more money goes to a great cause.
Time to participate in the Sunnen Engine Charity Sweepstakes is running out. The winning ticket will be randomly selected at 2 p.m. on the last day of the PRI Trade Show: Saturday, December 10, 2016. The winning ticket holder does not need to be present to win. However, the Sunnen Engine Charity Sweepstakes winner will incur all shipping costs of transporting the engine from the Indiana Convention Center.
